Bleed won The Norwegian Design Council´s Award for Design Excellence (Merket For God Design). This time for Aker Brygge. You can see the full project in our portfolio.

We are very happy!

ByCo is a new microfinancing company based in New York. Byco combines old-fashioned capitalism with crowd-funding principles. But instead of a perk, investors receive 10 percent of sales, depending on how much they put in. And the designer, who receives 20 percent of sales — or 30 percent if he or she is the sole investor — doesn’t have to deal with manufacturing, distribution and sales.

Bleed designed the corporate identity and web.

Da Helsedirektoratet startet opp arbeidet med å styrke røykeslutt og snusslutt for unge, trengte vi en samarbeidspartner på design og helhetstenkning, samt sparringspartner på hva som var mulige veier å gå for å få til gode tilbud for unge.

Slike prosjekter krever ofte stor fleksibilitet da forutsetninger endres underveis. Det har også vært flere andre utviklere på banen, så Bleed har hatt mange parter å forholde seg til.

Gjennom godt samarbeid har Bleed og Helsedirektoratet fått på plass struktur og design for utvikling av app først og fremst, men også designelementer for nett. Appen er laget både for Android og iPhone, og omhandler både røyk og snus. Det er første gang i historien det lages en app som også handler om snusslutt, så Norge er foregangsland på dette. Appen har vært en stor suksess, og første måned ble den lastet ned over 49.000 ganger! Omtaler fra brukerne tyder på at de er meget fornøyde med design, og det er allerede mange som har sluttet med tobakk ved bruk av appen.

Helsedirektoratet er meget fornøyd med samarbeidet med Bleed, og mener de er fleksible, fremtidsrettet og velvillige. De viser god forståelse for arbeid med offentlig instans, og viser meget gode evner til å omstille seg i arbeidet.

We are proud to announce that we are one of very few studios being awarded the title of European Design Leader. In company with Studio Dumbar, Pentagram, Meta Design and Stocholm Design Lab it is a great honor.

The European Design Leaders is an exclusive/élite club. Its purpose is to provide a valid and comprehensive index of the most creative studios and agencies of the continent. Defining who qualifies to become a member is based on a process as objective as possible.

How are the true European Design Leaders identified?
To define who is eligible for membership (ie who is a true leader in the communication design sector) we have constructed a careful methodology. Earlier this year, we interviewed a representative selection of design professionals and asked them to rate various international design award schemes. Based on their answers we were able to single out the top 5 communication design award programmes available. These are (in alphabetical order) D&AD, the Design Lions, the European Design Awards, iF communication design award and the Red Dot Awards: communication design. The next step was to scan all the results from these competitions for the last five years. And our task was done: All creative studios and agencies that have managed to win distinctions in three out of the last five years, are automatically entitled to apply for membership at the European Design Leaders club.

We believe that in this way we are providing a simple, straightforward, fair and objective criterion that recognises those studios and agencies that are consistently producing design of the highest level. Keeping in mind that every time we will be scanning and taking under consideration the last five years, it is clear that we are keeping the EDL list up to date and include those firms that are on the forefront of creativity at any given time.

European Design Leaders™ is rather self-explanatory. It is the one-of-a-kind professional club of Europe’s leading communication design studios and agencies. Membership is closed and by merit only. Our mission is to recognise, bring together, showcase and, above all, promote our continent’s most creative firms to the global market.

In which way does the European Design Leaders create added value?
Our aim is to be useful in two directions: the design providers (ie the creative studios) and the design buyers (the potential clients). You may think of EDL as a standard-setting organisation that provides communication design firms with recognition for the quality of their output. It issues every year a list of the top studios and agencies which are based in Europe and in this way it facilitates the design buyers to quickly identify and access the best of the field. All relevant information is freely accessible to them, at any time.

The design studios on the other hand, are provided with an easily identifiable, memorable and self-explanatory title that helps them stand out, in highly competitive world.

Further more, EDL takes a proactive role in connecting the two sides, by arranging for various events and meetings between its members and representatives of potential clients from around the globe.
